NETWORK INTEGRATION ENGINEER  (MAIDENHEAD, UK)

The Network Integration Engineer will perform both a customer-facing and development-facing role. He/she will work with the support team to deliver, configure, integrate and test Packet Vision and third party technology in a customer or trial environment which may be at a network operator, TV broadcaster or ad-sales house. Also he/she will work with the development team to integrate and test Packet Vision and third party technology in the laboratory prior to delivery to the customer or trial site.

REQUIREMENTS

He/she will show:

·         a good knowledge and understanding of internet protocol (IP), TCP, RTP, multicast and other protocols; networking principles; QoS; routers and switches

·         thorough knowledge of video and audio technologies and distribution networks

·         excellent knowledge of the Linux environment including installation, operation and applications

·         good communication, presentation and teamwork skills

·         an ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

·         a hands-on approach

·         an ability to communicate with customers and strive for 100% customer satisfaction

In addition he/she will, from time to time:

·         evaluate methods to integrate new technologies and products into Packet Vision’s systems and services

·         create automated evaluation tools and test scripts as needed.

·         work with 3rd party vendors to resolve evaluation, integration issues and questions

·         test and acquire evaluation tools

·         create integration and configuration documentation suitable for conversion into engineering, configuration and test plans

·         perform other duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS

·         BSc, BEng or equivalent

·         Minimum 2 years experience ‘C’ software and Embedded Linux (tools, operations and applications) development

·         Good computer literacy and demonstrated ability with Linux tools and scripts; editing, management, Python / bash

·         Cisco certification would be an advantage (eg CCNA or CCIE)

OTHER

·         Based in Maidenhead, but will have to travel to customer sites

·         Self starter, highly motivated

·         Good spoken/written English; multi-lingual a benefit

·         Flexibility and sense of humour

SALARY

·         Market rate, dependant on experience
