Dr Andrew Rickman OBE is chairman of Packet Vision. He was founder and CEO of Bookham Technology plc, now Bookham Inc (Nasdaq BKHM), the world’s second largest producer of fibre optic communication components and sub-systems. Andrew brings to Packet Vision extensive experience of growing businesses in the global communications market. He has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Imperial College London, a PhD in Photonics from Surrey University and an MBA from Cranfield University. 

Dr Paul Castle is the investor director of Packet Vision. He was founder and, until his retirement in 2003, chief executive of MTI, the UK’s leading high technology early stage venture capital fund manager, with funds managed aggregating £157 million. He obtained a First Class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering and won the Avery Prize at Leeds University, where he was subsequently awarded a doctorate. Paul’s early career spanned several years with PA Consulting Services, and before establishing MTI he was the chief executive of the PA Technology Laboratories in Belgium, which he established in conjunction with Belgium’s largest industrial holding group. He has experience as a director and as chairman in several high technology and engineering companies.

Simon Marquis is a non-executive director of Packet Vision. He has 30 years’ experience in the media and marketing industries, where he has held a number of senior management positions including editorial director at Haymarket Business Publications and chairman of ZenithOptimedia UK. His other non-executive and advisory roles include being chairman of the National Readership Survey, Media Circle Ltd and Evolutions Ltd; non-executive director of St Ives plc; and consultant with Reed Exhibitions, Ocean Consulting, MSN and Firebrand Media. He is a regular contributor to industry conferences and currently writes a weekly column for Campaign magazine.
