Video Software Development Engineer
The Video Software Development Engineer will join a small team developing high performance video software that sits at the heart of Packet Vision’s ad delivery platform. He/she will design and create software to support the next generation of hardware, enabling real-time ad insertion on multiple video streams simultaneously. In addition he/she will work with the support team assisting with any customer-related video issues as necessary.
Requirements include:
•    Engineering or Science based degree or equivalent
•    Minimum 4 years embedded ‘C’ software development
•    Broadcast TV or IPTV background
•    Excellent knowledge of video related compression and encoding technologies (e.g. MPEG/H.264/VC-1)
•    Experience with Conditional Access and DRM methods
•    Real-time embedded systems
•    Good knowledge of IP networking with real-time protocols (e.g. RTP, RTSP, MPEG-2 transport streams)

 

Real-time Embedded Software Development Engineer
The Real-time Embedded Software Development Engineer will have a challenging role as part of the small team developing the network-based systems that manage and control Packet Vision’s ad delivery platform. New projects will provide opportunities to work on some of the latest processor platforms with an emphasis on reliability and supreme performance.  He/she will work with the support team assisting with customer–related issues as necessary.
Requirements include:
•    Engineering or Science based degree or equivalent
•    Minimum 4 years embedded ‘C’ software development
•    Linux development background
•    Good knowledge of MIPS and/or Intel Architecture assembler
•    Extensive GNU tool-chain experience
•    Kernel, device driver and other real-time software development experience in an embedded environment
•    Significant IP networking with real-time protocols (e.g. RTP, RTSP)
•    CVS and/or Subversion

 

Network Integration Engineer
The Network Integration Engineer will perform both a customer-facing and development-facing role. He/she will work with the support team to deliver, configure, integrate and test Packet Vision and third party technology in a customer or trial environment which may be at a network operator, TV broadcaster or ad-sales house. Also he/she will work with the development team to integrate and test Packet Vision and third party technology in the laboratory prior to delivery to the customer or trial site.
Requirements include:
•    Engineering or Science based degree or equivalent
•    Minimum 2 years experience Embedded Linux (tools, operations and applications).
•    Knowledge of Java, Python, Perl, HTML, Apache
•    Linux certification an advantage (eg. LPI, Novell, Redhat)
•    Significant knowledge and understanding of internet protocol (IP), TCP, RTP and other protocols; networking principles; QoS; routers and switches
•    Cisco certification an advantage
•    Good knowledge of video and audio protocols and technologies
•    Good knowledge and understanding of TV, video and their distribution networks
